Synapse Grid

A light-cycle combat racer where your trail never fades — it becomes the arena. Ninety missions, four-player couch splitscreen, ten riders online. Early Access 27 October 2026, $7.99, once.

FILE 03 / survival protocols

Four rules. All of them are about walls.

Reproduced from the operators manual, section 2.0, which is itself classified under a licence we invented and which is legally binding in at least one (1) jurisdiction we made up.

Do not crash

Any wall — yours, theirs, the arena boundary — is instant de-resolution. Core dumped. No re-entry, no undo, no alt-F4’ing your way out of it.

Your own trail is lethal too

This is not Mario Kart. You cannot step on your own symlinks. Plan the loop before you commit to it, because the grid keeps receipts.

Green wall is terrain

Leave a wall alone for a few seconds and it settles from lethal amber to rideable green. Then it is floor. Ride it, climb it, take the high line and look smug.

Force the trap

Herd rivals into their own dead ends. A cornered Operator is a slow Operator, and a slow Operator is a wall waiting to happen.

GRID RUNNER

The real game flattened to two dimensions and shoved into your browser. Same rules, same powers, same bad decisions. Four modes, three difficulties, and a leaderboard consisting entirely of you.

Grid ladderverified by nobody

Ladder reviewed 30 August 2026. Count_Fuzzball’s appeal was heard in full, considered on its merits, and denied. He remains last. He will always remain last. The scoring is real; the ranking is a matter of policy.

Ride beside a wall without touching it and you enter the DRAFTING ZONE — your combo climbs while you hold the line, and decays the moment you play it safe. That is the whole game, in both dimensions. The free Steam demo is the 3D one with all ninety missions.

    FILE 06 / photographic exhibits

    Ten frames, taken 30 August

All from the current build. None of them are concept art, bullshots, or “target renders”. We do not document vaporware — only vapor trails.

Also recovered: 24 pages of propaganda

Some of it is a joke. All of it is true. Figuring out which is which is, per page two, the first skill check.

    VULKAN OR BUST

    What you need to ride

Vulkan only. There is no DirectX path and no OpenGL path, because adding two more renderers to test alone is how one-person studios stop being studios. Roughly 2012-and-later hardware qualifies.

    OS
Windows 10 64-bit, or a current 64-bit Linux. Both builds are compiled native — neither one “runs under Wine and prays”.
    Steam Deck
It runs. Valve hands out the Verified badge, not us, so we are not claiming it until they say so.
    CPU
    Dual-core 2.5 GHz minimum · quad-core 3.0 GHz recommended
    Memory
    4 GB minimum · 8 GB recommended
    Graphics
    Vulkan 1.0, 2 GB VRAM (GTX 600+ / HD 7000+ / Intel HD 500+) · GTX 1060 or RX 580 recommended
    Storage
2 GB. It is a game about lines.
    Controller
Partial. Every menu is fully pad-navigable and campaign, arena and splitscreen play start to finish on a pad. A few text fields — pilot name, join codes, naming a map — still want a keyboard. PlayStation pads get their own glyphs; we are not a Y-shaped hole in your muscle memory.
    Players
1 solo · 2–4 local splitscreen · up to 10 online. Empty seats fill with AI, so “2P” never quietly means 1P and a wall.
    Achievements
100 at launch. Several are jokes. All of them are obtainable.
